Cannot communicate with circuit
monitor from a remote personal
computer.
Circuit monitor address is incorrect. Check to see that the circuit monitor is correctly
addressed. See “RS-485, RS-232, and Infrared Port
Communications Setup” on page 15 for instructions.
Circuit monitor baud rate is incorrect. Verify that the baud rate of the circuit monitor matches the
baud rate of all other devices on its communications link.

Communications lines are improperly
connected.
Verify the circuit monitor communications connections.

Check to see that a multipoint communications terminator

Communications Link” on page 67 of the installation
manual for instructions.
Incorrect route statement to circuit monitor. Check the route statement. Refer to the SMS online help
for instructions on defining route statements.
